Terms of Service

Last updated: June 26, 2026

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your access to and use of START Jobs at startjobs.ca, including event browsing, registration, waitlists, online workshops, profile features, mentor applications, communications, and related services provided by StartNew Technologies Corp. ("START Canada", "we", "us", or "our").

By using START Jobs, registering for an event, submitting a mentor application, joining a workshop, or using related features, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use START Jobs.

2. START Jobs Services

START Jobs provides career-development events, webinars, workshops, bootcamps, mentor-related workflows, event communications, and related resources. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, events, speakers, formats, or availability at any time.

3. Accounts and Accurate Information

  • You agree to provide accurate and current information when registering, creating an account, joining a waitlist, uploading files, or applying to become a mentor.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must not impersonate another person, submit false information, interfere with the platform, attempt unauthorized access, or misuse event links, meeting links, resumes, attendee data, or administrator tools.

4. Event Registration, Waitlists, and Attendance

  • Registration may require email verification. Your spot may remain pending until you complete the required confirmation step.
  • Events may have limited capacity. If an event is full, you may be added to a waitlist where available.
  • We may cancel, reschedule, change the format of, or modify access to an event if needed.
  • You may cancel eligible registrations through the My Events page or by contacting START Canada.
  • Meeting links and calendar files are provided for your use and should not be shared publicly unless START Canada authorizes sharing.

5. Fees and Future Paid Events

START Jobs currently supports paid event registration only through promo-gated checkout flows. When a paid promo checkout applies, the applicable price, payment provider, promo or coupon requirements, refund terms, tax or receipt information, and any additional checkout terms should be presented before payment or registration confirmation.

6. Online Events, Recordings, and Publication

Online or hybrid events may be hosted through Microsoft Teams or similar services. You are responsible for having compatible equipment, internet access, and any account or browser access required by the meeting provider.

START Canada may record events, workshops, webinars, Q&A sessions, or portions of those sessions. By joining or participating in a recorded event, you understand that your display name, profile image, voice, video, chat messages, questions, comments, and other participation may be captured in the recording.

START Canada may edit, reuse, and publish recordings or clips publicly, including on START Canada websites, social media channels, and YouTube, for education, training, community access, and marketing. If you do not want to appear in a recording, you should keep your camera off, stay muted, avoid identifiable chat messages, and contact us before the event if you need an accommodation.

7. Participant Conduct

You agree to participate respectfully and lawfully. We may remove you from an event, restrict account access, reject a mentor application, cancel a registration, or block future participation if you harass others, post abusive or discriminatory content, disrupt an event, share private links or materials improperly, infringe rights, submit malware, or violate these Terms.

8. Mentor Applications and Mentor Access

Mentor applications are reviewed by START Canada. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance, event assignment, compensation, partnership, employment, or ongoing mentor access. We may approve, reject, revoke, or modify mentor access at our discretion.

If you submit a resume, biography, event proposal, profile content, or other application material, you represent that you have the right to provide it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

9. User Content and License

You retain ownership of content you submit, such as profile information, resumes, support messages, mentor application material, event proposals, questions, comments, feedback, and chat participation. You grant START Canada a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, display, reproduce, edit, transmit, and use that content as needed to operate START Jobs, administer events, review applications, provide support, send communications, maintain records, create event recordings, and publish recordings or related event materials as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

10. Communications

You agree that START Canada may send transactional messages related to your account, registrations, waitlists, event access, mentor application, security, support, and service updates. Promotional emails, newsletters, and campaign messages may be sent where permitted by law and will include an unsubscribe method where required.

11. Third-Party Services

START Jobs may use or link to third-party services such as Microsoft Teams, YouTube, social media platforms, email providers, hosting providers, or partner websites. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. START Canada is not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

12. No Guaranteed Outcomes

START Jobs events, workshops, mentor activities, and resources are provided for career-development and educational purposes. We do not guarantee employment, interviews, admission, immigration outcomes, certifications, income, business results, or any specific career outcome.

13. Intellectual Property

START Canada owns or licenses the START Jobs platform, branding, event materials, templates, designs, software, and content, except for user content and third-party materials. You may use START Jobs only for personal, educational, career-development, or authorized program purposes. You may not copy, scrape, resell, reverse engineer, or misuse the platform or materials unless we authorize it in writing.

14. Age and Eligibility

START Jobs is intended for a general career-development audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should use START Jobs and attend events only with permission from a parent, guardian, school, institution, or other responsible adult where appropriate.

15. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

START Jobs is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, START Canada disclaims warranties and will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from or related to START Jobs, events, recordings, communications, third-party services, or these Terms.

16. Changes and Termination

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to START Jobs or any event if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, or misused the service.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
