Event Standards
A useful event listing should make the commitment clear before someone registers. These standards guide how START Jobs describes and supports its workshops, webinars, bootcamps, and other career-readiness events.
Clear event information
Listings should explain the topic, intended audience, format, date, time, time zone, location or online delivery, capacity, and price when a fee applies. Presenter or facilitator information should be included when it is available.
Practical relevance
Programs should connect their subject to a practical career-readiness need. A listing should help participants understand what they will work on and what kind of preparation, participation, or prior knowledge may be useful.
Updates and corrections
Dates, facilitators, formats, and access details can change. START Jobs should update the public listing and notify registered participants when a material change affects their plans. Cancelled or rescheduled events should be identified clearly.
Registration and participation
Registration information is handled according to the START Jobs Privacy Policy. If an event may be recorded, uses a third-party meeting service, or has participation requirements, those expectations should be communicated before or during registration.
Report an issue
If an event listing is unclear or appears to contain outdated information, contact info@startnew.ca. Include the event title and the detail that needs attention so the team can review it.
